Cinnamon acres is a 50 acre horse farm located in a scenic valley on the north end of the Daniel Boone National Forest. My wife and I, her name is Annette, my name is Dick, came to Kentucky in 1997 from the state of Wyoming. Annette and I were both born and raised in Colorado. I became a Registered Nurse , joined The United States Air Force and eventually went on to school to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist . Some 28 years latter I retired from the Air Force to the State of Wyoming. We lived there for three years before being recruited to St Clair Regional Medical Center in Morehead Kentucky.
Because of our background, living in the country while growing up, I really wanted to get back to that life style. In the year 2000 Annette and I bought the 50 acres we now call Cinnamon Acres. Prior to buying the ground we had fallen in love with the Rocky Mountain Gaited Horses. I had purchased a young stallion named; Stones Sound of Silence . About a year latter I bought Annette a six month old red filly which we named Cinnamon Acres Cinnamon. Thus the name of the farm.

Annette and I built a 4 stall barn with tack room and hay loft and fenced the pasture before our own home was established We have since added a birthing stall to the original barn. Two run in sheds and a 50 X 60 equipment storage facility have also been added.
We currently have five brood mares on the place, one yearling filly and one yearling colt, and of course my gelding Stones Sound of Silence. Our breeding Stallion is a 3 year old black horse without a red gene, named Heart of Motion. He and another 5 year old mare named Toco Dawn are standing at another farm named Cool Shade Mountain Horses. They are both finished horses and are in the show circuit.
Annette and I have attended several training courses learning the best way to handle and train these animals from birth. We imprint train all the new born foals. Most of the training technique we use here at Cinnamon Acres is based on principals taught by John Lyons and Clint Anderson. To finish the horses we have two of the best trainers around. Chris and Stacie Tipton at Cool Shade Mountain Horses in Stanton, Kentucky. Take the time to look at some of the attached pictures, I hope you can see the gentleness of this breed of horses.
We truly love these horses, I have fully retired from the world of health care and dedicate all my time to the study of this animal The gaited Mountain Horse is truly Gods beast put here on this earth for our enjoyment. Come and visit our Mom & Pop operation.
